Electronic Consultations
Posted or Updated on 23 Jul 2024
As part of the five-year framework for GP contract reform, NHS England and GPC England have agreed an ambitious programme of work to be delivered over the next five-years.
One area covered by this framework involves bringing technology into the forefront of NHS Services.
You may be aware that you are already able to view your medical record (including results from tests), book consultations and order your prescription via our online services. By April 2021 NHS England is currently advising that it will require GP surgeries to offer a form of video or electronic consultation.
There are a number of products already offering such services.
We are currently reviewing the guidance and options available to ensure that whichever service we offer is the most convenient to our patients, and fits well with our current systems.
You may have heard of some of these services (LIVI, econsult) as there has been significant media attention in this project.
We will inform patients via Facebook / our website / in house notices as soon as we have a confirmed pathway.
